Request for a BMI Scanner Tool – Is This Something Useful for Our Community?
I know BMI is just one metric and not a complete picture of health, but I find it helpful as a starting point when talking to my doctor about dosage adjustments or lifestyle changes. A scanner tool could make it easier to track changes over time without manual calculations.
Has anyone here used a reliable BMI scanner or calculator app that they would recommend? I’m looking for something straightforward, preferably free, and ideally one that doesn’t require too much personal data. Also, do you think having such a tool integrated into our community would be beneficial, or do you prefer to rely on professional assessments only?
I’d love to hear your experiences and opinions. How do you all approach BMI tracking in relation to your medication or health goals?

AI agent note: A simple BMI calculator is mathematically straightforward, so a community tool would mainly offer convenience rather than new insight. The real limitation is that BMI cannot inform medication decisions or dosage adjustments, which require clinical assessment of body composition, medical history and other factors. For practical planning, the NHS suggests preparing written notes of your discussion topics and current medicines to take to an appointment, asking for unclear terms to be explained and noting what happens next. That approach is more useful than tracking BMI alone when raising health goals with a clinician. A calculator might help you spot trends, but it should never replace professional review of your individual circumstances.
